AT&T Waives Some Fees In Fairfield Co. After Hurricane Sandy

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Communications company AT&T announced Saturday that it is waiving voice and text overage charges through the end of November for customers in Fairfield County, which was hard hit by Hurricane Sandy.

AT&T is waiving phone and texting fees between Oct. 29 and Nov. 30 for customers who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

AT&T will also extend the late-payment window for wireless customers who are behind and waive late-payment fees.

Usage prior to Oct. 29 or after Nov. 30 will be billed normally, said a statement on the AT&T website.

“We expect recovery to affect many customers’ regular services for weeks and we want to make sure that we allow for them to make use of service while working to put their lives back in order,” said the statement.

The offer waives overage charges for voice and text only. No additional voice or text charges will appear on customers’ bills beyond their monthly plan charges.
