Bareburger practically dares you to have a boring burger with options beyond just traditional beef and turkey such as elk, bison, ostrich, lamb and wild boar to put on your bun. It also offers vegetarian and vegan options such as black bean, quinoa veggie and mushroom.
The "bare" in Bareburger comes from its use of free-range, grass-fed and locally sourced ingredients.
Aside from its 14 suggested burgers, you can also build your own burger with toppings ranging from nearly a dozen veggies to six kinds of cheese to four kinds of bacon to 14 different sauces.
But Bareburger doesn't stop at its jam-packed burger listings. It also features snacks such as fries, onion rings, pickle chips and chicken tenders; nearly a dozen salads; non-burger sandwiches including brisket, buffalo chicken and crab cake; kids meals, desserts and even breakfast.
And if that wasn't enough, it also serves organic milkshakes, homemade soda and organic beer and wine.
The Ridgefield location is Bareburger's first in Connecticut after opening 14 locations throughout the boroughs of New York City, one in New Jersey and one in Hartsdale, N.Y.
It was a Michelin-recommended restaurant two years in a row and rate a top-10 New York City burger by Zagat three years running.
Bareburger Ridgefield is located at 38 Danbury Road in Ridgefield and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.
