Director At Stamford's Chelsea Piers Named Athletic Director At Princeton

STAMFORD, Conn. – Mollie Marcoux, Executive Director of Stamford-based Chelsea Piers Connecticut, has been named the new Ford Family Director of Athletics for Princeton University.

Marcoux was a legendary student-athlete at Princeton University in ice hockey and soccer.  Marcoux joined Chelsea Piers Management in 1995 and has played an integral role in the creation and management of both the New York and Connecticut sports complexes.

Marcoux helped create and launch the first Chelsea Piers Summer Sports Camp, which now enrolls over 2,000 children each summer.  Between 1998-2000, Marcoux helped launch and was the first General Manager of Pier Sixty and The Lighthouse, the Company’s two event centers. 

Marcoux then spent two years as the First Vice President of New Business Development before taking over operations of the Field House.  From 2002 through 2011 Marcoux served as First Vice President and General Manager of the highly successful Field House, which offers extensive sports programming for athletes of all ages and abilities.  She also founded the Chelsea Piers “CP Kids” daycare/preschool center and was responsible for overseeing the company’s special event business.

I also look forward to watching Chelsea Piers continue to develop cutting-edge programming for athletes of all ages and abilities.”

Marcoux graduated from Princeton in 1991 after majoring in history and writing her thesis on the history of women in sports from 1895 to 1946. She was a two-sport varsity athlete, earning four letters each in soccer and ice hockey. As a varsity ice hockey player, she was named Ivy League rookie of the year in 1988 and  earned first-team all-Ivy honors four times She graduated as Princeton's all-time leading scorer and she still ranks first in most goals in a season with 35.

Marcoux will begin her new position at Princeton in August.
