GE Threatens To Leave Connecticut If State Budget Plan Passes

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- General Electric said it would pull up stakes and move its headquarters out of Fairfield if the Connecticut State Budget passes in its current form, according to the Fairfield Citizen.

The proposed budget calls for sizable tax increases, including hikes on corporations, the Fairfield Citizen reported. 

General Electric employs 800 people at its Fairfield headquarters and nearly 5,700 people throughout the state, the Fairfield Citizen said.
