The convenience is located at 786 Post Road East and will officially open with a celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1.

The event will include local steel drum band Roylety Steel Pan playing Caribbean music, a Citgo gas card giveaway every 15 minutes, a raffle for a $100 Citgo gas card and Dave Matthews tickets, and the opportunity for guests to get their picture taken in a real racecar.

"We are excited that businesses such as these find a home in Westport. We welcome them and wish them much success," Marpe said.

The convenience store is owned and operated by Consumers Petroleum, a third-generation company based in Trumbull with stations across the state. The new Westport location is the 19th station in Connecticut.

"We want to provide consumer-friendly, quality gas stations and convenience stores," said Christine Hogan, president of Consumers Petroleum. "At Consumers Petroleum and Wheels Convenience Stores, we hope to create lasting relationships with consumers. Without our customers, we wouldn't be in business. That's why we strive to ensure that we give them the products and services they want. And we want them to know we appreciate their business."
