The restaurant announced recently on its Facebook that it plans to open in October. “We still have many little things to take care of but if all goes as planned we will see you all for Octoberfest!!!” the business posted on Facebook.

Jordan Wright, son of property owner Susan Wright, will be the restaurant manager, according to a story in Hello Redding.  The Facebook page says patrons can expect “BIG Burgers, the BEST grass fed steaks in CT,” according to a Facebook post.

The restaurant posted a picture on Facebook that will apparently rebrand the restaurant as "MacKenzie's Redding Roadhouse Restaurant." Wright is the nephew of former Redding Roadhouse owner Mac Groetzinger, according to the Hello Redding story. Groetzinger owned the restaurant from 1986 to 2001, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Real food, good times, and great memories made,’’ the business posted on Facebook last month. “That is what The Roadhouse was built on and that is what we aim to bring back. Bear with us as we cut through the red tape and get the doors reopened!!”

Fans of the restaurant are anxious for the restaurant to open, and have posted numerous supportive messages. The restaurant has been a favorite with Redding residents, but also drew many patrons from Bethel, Danbury, Ridgefield, Easton, Weston, Wilton, Norwalk and Westport.

The restaurant closed in May after serving diners for three decades. The Redding Roadhouse is located fat 406 Redding Road, Route 53, near Hill Road.
