NORWALK, Conn. – The Western Connecticut Health Network has named Seamus Collins vice president of development.

Based at Norwalk Hospital, Collins will lead a team of fundraisers dedicated to raising money to support hospitals in Danbury, New Milford and Norwalk.

He also is responsible for building and managing an aggressive and diversified fundraising portfolio of major gifts, planned gifts and corporate/foundation gifts to support next-generation funding priorities of the network, according to a press release.

“We are very excited that Seamus has joined our foundation team as vice president of development,” said Grace Linhard, chief development officer for the network, according to a press release. “His philanthropic leadership experience at best-in-class health care organizations will elevate our efforts to secure the charitable funding needed to advance the mission of the Western Connecticut Health Network.”

“It is an honor to join a respected and progressive health system like WCHN,” Collins, a Norwalk resident, said in a press release. “I look forward to playing a key role in the development and execution of philanthropic strategies that support health and wellness in the communities we call home.”

Collins joins the network with more than 20 years of development experience at leading U.S. health care and educational institutions, including the Lahey Clinic, Cushing Academy, and centers affiliated with Harvard Medical School, Tufts Medical School and Boston University Medical School.

Collins also is the co-founder of Harvard Education Advisors, a private consulting firm serving Chinese students seeking admission to New England college preparatory schools, according to a press release.
