Waldo is wearing his striped shirt and black-rimmed glasses and is set to visit local businesses around New Canaan throughout October. Those who spot him around town are eligible to win prizes, including stickers, book coupons and more, according to a press release from Elm Street Books.
His appearances are part of the store's new shop local movement that promises to feature Waldo at more than 25 New Canaan businesses. Those interested in getting the names of the stores can can pick up a “Find Waldo in New Canaan!” passport at Elm Street Books.
"They can then get their passport stamped or signed at each shop where they spot Waldo," representatives said in the press release. "The first 100 Waldo seekers to get their passports stamped or signed at 10 or more sites can bring their passports back to Elm Street Books to collect prizes."
Those with passports also will be eligible for the store's grand prize drawing Oct. 26, including a six-volume deluxe set of Waldo books.
There is no charge to participate, representatives said in the release, and the hunt lasts from Oct. 1-25. For more information, residents can call Elm Street Books at 203-966-4545.
