A longtime resident of New Canaan, Janet Lindstrom has served as executive director of the New Canaan Historical Society since 1985. She graduated from Penn State and has a master's degree from Columbia. A school teacher, she taught at several schools in New Canaan and was named "Woman of the Year" by the New Canaan branch of the AAUW in 2004.
