NEW CANAAN, Conn. — People will once again be playing games and taking carnival rides as the St. Mark’s Church’s 64th-annual May Fair takes place this Saturday in New Canaan.

“All are welcome to this spectacular day of fun for folks of all ages. May Fair is cherished by locals as a way to connect, have fun, and support local and far-reaching non-profit and charitable organizations,” the release from the church said.

In addition to the entertainment there will be plenty of food including the May Fair’s famous strawberry shortcake, the release said.

The May Fair White Elephant Tag Sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will sell many items including jewelry, furniture, electronics, art, and more.

The Green Tent will be raffling off a pair of lawn chairs designed by Gerrit Rietveld , in an event to raise environmental awareness, the release said. The chairs are clear cedar and are coated with tung oil, the release said.

The raffle is free to enter, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a special bike parking area for people to not drive, bikers will need their own locks though. The church will also be providing a shuttle service back-and-forth from the commuter lot on Elm Street from 8:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.

The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. rain or shine and St. Mark’s is located at 111 Oenoke Ridge Road. Found out more by visiting the church’s website .
