About 500 priests, religious and lay leaders from the diocese have been invited to attend the presentation. Caggiano will outline a plan to reorganize the management and administrative functions provided by the Catholic Center in an effort to move the diocese forward to a new model of service.
He will also announce major initiatives that will be launched in the coming year to address the immediate challenges and the long-term opportunities for the Diocese of Bridgeport.
The plan is a response to the findings from the National Executive Service Corp regarding the Catholic Center.
The Diocese of Bridgeport includes more than 460,000 registered Catholics. In addition to its 82 parishes, the diocese sponsors 30 regional elementary schools and five diocesan high schools, educating 10,000 youth, the St. John Fisher Seminary, the Queen of Clergy Residence and a varied range of social services through Catholic Charities and other institutions.
