Clannad Brings Irish Music To Ridgefield Playhouse

The Irish band Clannad is coming Oct. 3 to the Ridgefield Playhouse as part of its limited North American tour.

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – During their limited tour of North America, the Irish band Clannad will perform Oct. 3 at the Ridgefield Playhosue.

Clannad is well known for its combination of folk, rock, ambient, jazz and world music, with vocals in both Gaelic & English. The band currently is working on its first studio album since the 1998 release of the Grammy-winning album “Landmarks.” 

In addition to the 1999 Grammy for Best New Age Album, Clannad won a 1982 Best Soundtrack Ivor Novello Award for “Theme From Harry’s Game,” a 1992 Billboard Music Award for World Music Song of the Year for “Rí na Cruinne" and a 2007 Meteor Music Lifetime Achievement Award.
