Darien Chamber Of Commerce Plans Annual Wine Tasting, Auction

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its 10th annual Wine Tasting and Auction on Thursday, Oct. 23, at BMW of Darien.

BMW of Darien is at 140 Ledge Road in Darien, and the wine tasting runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

The chamber welcomes all in the greater Darien community to a fun-filled evening that will feature a selection of fine wines sponsored by WinePort-Darien along with a fine selection of foods from area restaurants and caterers. A Charity Auction will feature many special items.

There will be a silent and live auction that includes VIP tickets to the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade, “Watch the CBS News Live hosted by Darien's Scott Pelley from the control room with his wife Jane Pelley,” BMW Cruiser Bike, BMW Roadster Mini-Car, membership at Darien YMCA, artwork from well-known local artists, trips and more. Tom Geary, owner of Geary Gallery, will be the auctioneer.

The Darien Chamber Fundraiser will benefit the Depot Youth Center, YWCA Darien/Norwalk and Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation. 

The Depot Teen Center is a nonprofit organization providing youth with a drug- and alcohol-free environment. The YWCA of Darien/Norwalk’s mission is “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women.” The Darien Chamber Charitable Foundation supports two to three community-based college scholarships, Holiday Lighting in Darien and other community projects.

“This Wine Tasting Event is the perfect example of bringing our local business/retail community, restaurateurs, Darien non-profit organizations and area residents together to raise money to benefit our community”, says Susan Cator, president of the Darien Chamber of Commerce.

Advance tickets can be purchased online at the Darien Chamber for $50 each and are limited to 275 people. Click here to order tickets online. Price at the door is $65.
