The event is sponsored by The Alliance In Limiting Strays and will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Petco, 431 Westport Ave.

TAILS is a Fairfield County-based not-for-profit organization that promotes the spaying/neutering of animals and provides financial support to humane organizations and individuals in pursuit of this goal.

"With more than 40 adoptable pups, Puppy Palooza is the perfect place to find a new best friend,” TAILS President Dorrie Harris said. "In addition to coordinating the logistics for this large event, all the pups will have already been provided with needed checkups, shots and other necessities to prepare them for adoption.  All they need now are families ready to share their homes and hearts.”

Photos and brief descriptions of many of the dogs up for adoption can be viewed at www.tailsct.org. Photos of the remaining adoptable dogs will be posted in the days leading up to the event.  Potential adopters are encouraged to visit the website and fill out an application for a specific dog (or specific dogs) before the event. Those who are preapproved to adopt will be notified and invited to bring their new pup home on Friday, Oct. 3.
