RTC Seeks New Member

If you’re looking to get more involved in local politics, the Republican Party of Darien wants you. The Republican Town Committee announced this week that it is looking for a new member to join its ranks. RTC chair Harry Artinian said the group is looking for “people with an interest in furthering our mission, who have an interest in contributing to the Republican Party.”

That mission, Artinian said, is to encourage capable Republicans to run for office, to organize and direct election campaigns, to elect Republicans to office, to recommend qualified Republicans for appointive offices, to study and recommend improvements in local government and to study and support (or oppose) local, state and federal legislation of concern to Darien.

The new member would be expected to attend the committee’s monthly meetings. He or she will also be encouraged to join one or more subcommittees, including Recruitment, Voter Registration, Finance, Publicity and Media, and others.

Those interested should download the “Application for a Board or Commission” form on the front page of the RTC’s website. Applications are due via e-mail to darienrtc@yahoo.com by June 30. For more information, contact Harry Artinian at (203) 656-0807.
