Regina, 21, plans to fly out in May to play in the Robur '58 Apeldoorn Series. A graduate of Pompton Lakes High School, Regina currently plays for University of Hartford.

"I'm hoping it will be the experience of a lifetime," Regina told Daily Voice. "[Softball's] primarily an American sport. I hope going to Europe I'll be able to see a different perspective from the sport."

The invitation to the Holland games came as a surprise for Regina, as she didn't apply for it. They found her, though, and she said she's thankful and excited for the opportunity.

Regina, a junior with the Hartford Hawks, primarily plays the outfield. She moved around the diamond with the Pompton Lakes Cardinals, playing catcher and the infield as well.

Regina hit .485 in her senior year with Pompton Lakes and helped lead the team to a 19-6 record. She also played field hockey with the cardinals.

"It's a huge part of my life," Regina said of her softball career. "Now that I'm in college I realized softball is still a huge part of my life but it's also a way to pave the way to make relationships."

Regina majored in psychology with a minor in international studies at Hartford. She said she's still open to playing softball after graduating but could also go to graduate school.
