Galactic Brings New Orleans To Ridgefield Playhouse

RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – A funk and jazz band from New Orleans will be sharing their unique form on music on the Ridgefield Playhouse stage on Aug. 10.

Galactic, a collaborative band of five accomplished musicians who are said to have been together so long that they are telepathic, will be in concert with their brand of funk-rock-hip-hop. Their performances are like a talent revue featuring different vocalists and instrumental soloists taking turns on stage in the Galactic sound universe.

The band recently released a carnival album, "Carnivale Electricos," which was recorded during a “dusk-to-dawn party-in-the-streets” in New Orleans.

Special guest is singer/songwriter/actor Corey Glover of the band Living Colour.
