What's on the Agenda in Mamaroneck

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Residents interested in getting involved with their local government have plenty of opportunities this week.

Monday

The Village Board of Trustees will meet in the Courtroom at Village Hall at 7:30 p.m. The first item on the agenda is a continuation on the public hearing to establish a six-month moratorium on open space development, in which the Village will be able to analyze the impact of any proposed development on the limited open spaces remaining within the Village. The moratorium has drawn criticism from certain organizations, including the Hampshire Country Club, which believes the proposal is aimed at them and will be present at Monday’s meeting.

Under New Business, the Board will consider a resolution to buy software that would create, approve and track agenda items, eliminating the need to keep paper records. There are several resolutions related to parking, including one to extend the spaces under the Emelin Theater from one hour to two hours to accommodate those attending a performance. The Town Board will then meet in the Town Center Court Room at 8 p.m., where Girl Scout Troop 2056 will present plans for a 9/11 Garden.
