FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Phil Lesh and Friends will headline the 2013 Gathering of the Vibes Festival in Bridgeport this July, the festival announced Tuesday.

The annual music festival released its 2013 lineup Tuesday. Lesh, the founding bass player for the Grateful Dead, will headline two of the festival’s four nights with members of his rotating touring group. Joining him in Bridgeport will be jazz guitarist and former Wilton resident John Scofield, keyboardist John Medeski, and his Furthur bandmates Joe Russo and John Kadlecik.

Other headliners include The Black Crowes, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and The Roots. The Grateful Dead’s “official clown,” Wavy Gravy, will be the festival’s master of ceremonies. You can see the full lineup so far here, with more to be announced in the future.

The 2013 Gathering of the Vibes is scheduled for July 25-28 in Bridgeport’s Seaside Park.  This summer will mark the 18th Gathering of the Vibes, and the ninth time the festival has been held in Seaside Park. Full festival passes are available now via the concert’s website.

I think I'll get a new dress

Pony Tail Steve:

This event is going to be great. Phil is actually upbeat. I agree, keep minors out. That place fills up with smoke, and children should NOT be inside inhaling pot fumes.

Blabbermouth68:

This event should be known by what it is: A Gathering of Drugs; and it should be banned. Parents of minors should NOT allow their children to go to it. Ask any cop.
