GIFF's second edition will feature over 40 films, panel discussions, parties and special events.

"Female Empowerment in Media" is a panel featuring Gretchen Carlson of FOX, Reena Ninan of CBS, Nancy Armstrong of MAKERS.com and Hannah Storm of ESPN, and moderated by Tonya Lewis Lee.

The panel will focus on the underrepresentation of women in the news and entertainment industries. This diverse group of leading women is making a difference in the world in spite of this imbalance.

"Women at the Top: Female Empowerment in Media" will be held on Friday, June 10, and is presented by Camuto Group. Dan Cogan of Impact Partners and Alexandra Shiva of Gildalya Pictures will take part in a panel discussion moderated by Alison Davis of J.P. Morgan Private Bank entitled "Driving Social Change Through Investments in Film."

This is a luncheon and panel bringing together philanthropists, investors and leaders in the filmmaking community to discuss investing in social impact films and how to promote the causes you care about most.

"Driving Social Change Through Investments in Film" will be held on Friday, June 10, and is presented by J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

Bringing together novelists, screenwriters, and agents, "From Book to Screen" is a panel that will focus on the myriad of challenges these groups face and the rewards they reap when it comes to adapting books for film and television shows.

Panelists include:

  • Jessica Knoll, novelist, “Luckiest Girl Alive”

As part of GIFF’s sponsorship with Samsung, the company, along with The Nantucket Project, will be hosting a Virtual Reality lounge on Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 123 Mason St.

The lounge will deliver a new form of storytelling, through an immersive virtual reality experience. Using Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus, festival-goers will be transported to another world.
