Ossining William Street Man Charged With DWI

OSSINING, N.Y. – An Ossining man was charged with driving while intoxicated after driving erratically on South Highland Avenue near William Street, police said.

Paul Campbell, 39, of William Street was stopped by Ossining police Sgt. Kevin Sylvester on Sunday at around 2:30 a.m., police said. He was charged after he was given sobriety tests.

Also in Ossining:

- A woman reported that someone took her purse while she was doing a wash at a laundromat at 130 Spring St. Sunday. Credit cards and jewelry were among the contents of the woman's purse, police said.

The woman told police she placed her bag on a chair near where she was washing and covered it with a sweater. She later discovered it was gone and reported it to the police at around 4:40 p.m.

- Ossining police would like to remind residents that identity theft is on the rise. People should protect their personal information, use direct deposit and have several forms of photo identification, police said. Any unusual activity on banking and credit card accounts should be reported to police. Personal information about accounts should never be provided to people in response to email, web or telephone solicitations, police said.
