Bronxville Veteran, Thomas Pinelli Dies at 85

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Bronxville World War II veteran, Thomas E. Pinelli, Sr. died Nov. 21, with his wife and sons at his bedside. He was 85.

Born and raised in Bronx, N.Y., he was one of two sons born to the late Louis and Rachel Pinelli. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Third Infantry Division where they fought in the Rhineland and liberated Dachau concentration camp. 

Pinelli then worked for the US Postal Service for 30 years before retiring. After moving to Bronxville, he devoted his life to being a devoted husband and father. 

Surviving are his wife Ruth Pinelli and his sons John J. Pinelli and Thomas E. Pinelli, Jr.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. The funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville.
