WESTPORT, Conn. Patricia Whitehead Towle of Osterville, Mass., a former Westport resident and a Staples High School graduate, died Dec. 25. She was 73.
Born in Ashland, Mass., Towle grew up in Westport and graduated from Staples in 1957. She later pursued a bachelor's degree in education at Mary Washington College in Virginia. After graduation, she worked as a second-grade teacher for many years.
Outside of her career, Towle was an active volunteer.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Anderson of Austin, Texas, and Heather Niblock of Annapolis, Md.; and six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Wednesday at St. Peter's Church in Osterville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
