Stax Celebration: Soulsville Jazz Ensemble at Westport's Levitt Pavilion

Straight from Memphis, graduates from the famed Stax Music Academy (think legendary Stax Records) take the stage with a soul-filled program to make Al Green, Booker T and Isaac Hayes proud. These students have toured all around the world at venues including The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Lincoln Center in New York and with Opera Memphis; audiences have included Oprah Winfrey and Bill Clinton - and that was just last year. Stax Music Academy exists to nurture and present the next generation of great Soul Communicators from the greater Soulsvile region, holistically equipping them to excel and to impact the world through the universal language of music.
