NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Silvermine Arts Center will be offering three special walking art and architecture tours this fall in New York City focusing on the diverse spiritual spaces of the city and its historic squares.
The tours will be led by Anne Bolin, a specialist in 19th-century art and culture.
The first tour will be held in two sections, with one on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and another on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Both will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The tour will include stops at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church and St. Thomas Church and conclude at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
The second section will visit lesser known spiritual homes of New York City, including the church of St. Paul the Apostle, New York’s Society for Ethical Culture, Holy Trinity Lutheran and the First Church of Christ Scientist.
The final tour will take place Oct. 30 and will begin at 10 a.m. It will include stops at Washington, Union and Madison Squares.
