Pulitzer Prize-Winning Poet Speaks At New Canaan Library

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Pulitzer prize-winning poet Vijay Seshadri will speak at the New Canaan Library on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 7 p.m.

Seshadri will speak about and perform readings from his Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of poetry, "3 Sections."

Seshadri is a former editor at The New Yorker. He is currently the Michele Tolela Myers Professor of Writing at Sarah Lawrence College.

He was born in Bangalore, India, in 1954 and came to the United States at the age of 5. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where his father taught chemistry at Ohio State University. His poetry collections also include "The Long Meadow," which won the James Laughlin Award, and "Wild Kingdom" (1996).
