Among the highlights: host director, Allen Coulter (The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, House of Cards) discusses his creative process, his understanding of story and working with some of the biggest names in TV/Film history at 6:30 pm. Saturday, Sept. 27. This will be accompanied by a screening of an episode of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. And, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Amadeus, Producer Michael Hausman, writer Sir Peter Shaffer and actor Tom Hulce will be on hand. In addition, there will be a host of student films as well as staged readings of short and feature-length screenplays.

By inspiring highly acclaimed professional filmmakers such as Coulter, Emily Watchel (screenwriter, Lucky Them), SHU Professor Sidney Gottlieb (editor, Hitchcock on Hitchcock) and screenwriter and Connecticut native Anthony Tambakis (Warrior) to come to the festival and share their work with the FTMA students and Stamford, the FTMA Film Festival will provide high-quality programming usually reserved for big market cities like Los Angeles and New York City, notes Justin Liberman, visiting assistant professor and co-program director (along with Damon Maulucci).

“With this program we are really making the announcement that the FTMA program is here and worthy of your attention,” he says. “I really hope the public recognizes the value of this festival and takes advantage of this programming.”
