The Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance performs the Sugar Plum Fairies, the evil mice and the toy soldiers this year with a cast of their own dancers and guests.

Clara will once again be played by Emily Robertson and Herr Drosselmeyer will be danced by "The Nutcracker’s" Artistic Director and Co-Director of the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, Terence Duncan.

Margaux Amara and Meredith Santoro will share the roles of the Dew Drop Fairy and the Sugar Plum Fairy, partnered by the guest Cavalier Matthew Melendez from the Hartt School Dance Division at the University of Hartford.

Ridgefield First Selectman Rudy Marconi will appear in the party scene joined by Ridgefield Conservatory faculty Amy Piantaggini and Maggie Ronan.

The role of the Snow Queen will be danced by Mattie Joyner and Daniella Parisot, partnered by conservatory alumnus, Isaac Lerner. Joyner's father, the renowned internationally acclaimed tenor William Joyner, will also join the cast as a party guest.

“We are excited about bringing a fresh take to the Ridgefield 'Nutcracker' and are happy to be a part of this holiday tradition,” Duncan said. "This is essentially the same production that the community has come to love, performed with care by the talented dancers of the Ridgefield Conservatory.”
