What To Do In New Canaan This Weekend

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Here are a few highlights of things to do in and around New Canaan this weekend.  See our Events Calendar for more items.

Saturday

Chinese New Year Celebration at New Canaan Library: 1:30 p.m. Come celebrate Chinese New Year with Cindy Xia in the Children's Program Room.  Learn about the Chinese Zodiac, practice using chopsticks and sample delicious Chinese foods.  Chinese clothing and cultural items will be on display.  Each child will receive a red envelope for good luck in the new year. The program is for children ages 5 to 10 with a parent.  New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Sunday

Wrestling championships: 1 p.m. The Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference will condense its championships into a one-day event. Only the top eight seeds in each weight class will participate in the tournament. New Canaan High School.

New Canaan Library Manga Club: 1:30 p.m. The group meets on occasional Sunday afternoons through May to read and discuss manga, watch anime, draw, do crafts and make food, and learn about Japanese culture. Manga Club is open to those in grades 7 to 12. Email Gretchen, the teen services librarian, for more information or to join. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
