Town Players Of New Canaan Present “A Month In The Country:” 8 p.m. The Town Players will perform “A Month in the Country” by Ivan Turgenev. It is directed by Michael Kopko. Call the box office at 203-966-7371 to reserve your tickets. A performance will also be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Powerhouse Theatre, Waveny Park.

Saturday, Nov. 17

(Not) Just For Kids Percussion Program: 1:30 p.m. The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra with guest percussionist Damon Grant presents an introduction to percussion instruments for children ages 6 to 12 with parents. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St. 

Sunday, Nov. 18

National Novel Writing Monthly Group: Noon. Are you participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)? If so, join the New Canaan Library for refreshments and an afternoon of writing dangerously with other Fairfield County writers and NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison Charles Muir. They will meet in the Plaut Room. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

The Election and the Next Four Years: An Evening With Brian Williams and Distinguished Guests: 6 p.m. Brian Williams, "NBC Nightly News" anchor and managing editor, will headline the library’s Richard Salant Lecture. It will feature a forum discussion with CNN political analyst David Gergen, advocate Peter Goldmark, and MSNBC host Joe Scarborough. New Canaan High School, 11 Farm Road.
