NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A stage musical in the park, a traditional farmers’ market and the second stage of a wine and food tour are some of the events planned for this weekend in and around New Canaan.
Summer Theatre of New Canaan Presents “My Fair Lady”: 8 p.m. General admission starts at $20 for open lawn seating and picnics. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through July 7. Waveny Park.
New Canaan Farmers’ Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit with vendors selling farm fresh foods, soaps, crafts and other treats at the Center School Parking Lot on the corner of Maple and Main streets. The Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday rain or shine through Nov. 17. Center School Parking Lot.
Creating Bird-Friendly Landscapes With Kim Eierman: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can do a lot in your own landscape to help our many declining bird species. Learn how to support our native birds and neo-tropical migrants with ecological design and proper plant selection. Kim Eierman, Native Landscape Expert, will share helpful tips on successful bird-friendly gardening and some of the best choices of native plants. The program is $10 for adults and children are free. Stage Two of The Roger Sherman Inn Tour De France: 6 p.m. The Roger Sherman Inn continues its summer wine and food series with a salute to Provence. The evening will feature a Provencal menu served as a family-styled, farm table feast, accented with rose and red wines. Tickets are $70 per person.
