"The Cat In The Hat:" 10 a.m. The funniest and most mischievous cat  with trickiest of tricks, crazy ideas and funny moments. $18 through $125. Summer Theater Festival, Waveny Park, 11 Farm Road, New Canaan.

"The Little Mermaid Jr. :" 10 a.m. An adaptation of a Hans Christian Andersen story and the Disney film produced by Howard Ashman and John Musker and written and  directed by John Musker and Ron Clements (Broadway Junior Version). $18 through $125. Summer Theater Festival, Waveny Park 11 Farm Road, New Canaan.

Saturday, Aug. 10

New Works by Artist Tauba Auerbach: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. An exhibition featuring the work of  New York-based artist Tauba Auerbach for Night (1947- 2015), a “sculpture-in-residence” series presented on the Mies van der Rohe glass coffee table inside the Glass House. The physical form of the work resembles that of a gnomon, the vertical shadow-casting part of a sundial. Cost is $30 to $250. The Glass House , 199 Elm St., New Canaan.

" Grease:" 8 p.m. Musical brings back the look and sound of the 1950s, with duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers. Cost is $37 to $200. Waveny Park, 11 Farm Road, New Canaan.

Exhibition: New Works by Artist E.V. Day at The Glass House: 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. New site-specific works by New York artist E.V. Day will be on view in Da Monsta gallery at the Glass House. A variety of tours are available so visitors can enjoy all aspects of this historic modernist icon. Cost is $30 to $250. The Glass House , 199 Elm St.
