New Canaan Library Movie Mondays: 4 p.m. Join the New Canaan Library for Monday for Movie Mondays. This week’s movie is “Mao’s Last Dancer.” Plaut Room, New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Tuesday, Dec. 11

New Canaan Board of Finance: 7:30 p.m. The New Canaan Board of Finance will have its regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda are approving line-item transfers to pay for several projects, including construction management for the Town Hall renovation project. New Canaan Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

World Events, Culture and History Book Group: 7:30 p.m. The group will discuss Samuel P. Huntington's "The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order," a provocative and prescient analysis of the state of world politics after the fall of communism. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

New Canaan Town Council: 7:30 p.m. The New Canaan Town Council will have a regular meeting. New Canaan Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge.

Thursday, Dec. 13

New Canaan Library Teen Critics Meeting: 6 p.m. Join the Teen Critics in the Teen Area for pizza and a discussion of "Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging" by Louise Rennison. The group will also choose a book for January. The program is for children in grades 7 to 9. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

Friday, Dec. 14

Holiday Concert with the Saxe Chamber Players: 3:30 p.m. The Saxe Chamber Players, under the direction of Janet Rosen, presents its annual Holiday Concert. Filled with traditional favorites and special performances, this concert is delightful for children of all ages, their parents and grandparents. Musicians and their guests are invited to bring a new or gently used children's book to donate to the Carver Foundation of Norwalk. A reception will follow.
