Heather Gaudio Fine Art presents Black + White: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibition features works by 14 international artists, and the exhibit will offer paintings, photographs, works on paper and sculpture, all in black and white. New Canaan Library Young Sherlocks Mystery Book Club: 6:30 p.m. This is a new monthly book club for super-sleuth readers entering grades 6 and 7. Songs and Stories Around the Campfire at New Canaan Library: 6:30 p.m. Kids ages 5 to 10 are invited to come make a "log" to throw on the "campfire" and join Librarian Cathy Townsend for a medley of campfire songs and stories. New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.
Silvermine Arts Center’s Student Exhibition: noon to 5 p.m. One of the most popular shows of the year, the Silvermine Arts Center’s Student Exhibition showcases the artistic achievements of the Silvermine School of Art students of all ages, from youth to adult. This event allows students to share their accomplishments and offers the general public a view of the fine art and creative energy generated by the student body. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays to Saturdays, 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays and by appointment Monday and Tuesday.
