New Canaan Runner Is First Among Females In New York 10K Race

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. – More than 1,250 people participated in the recent 29th annual Leatherman’s Loop race at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

  • Luis Francisco, 43, of Mahopac, earned first place by running the 10K trail in just over 40 minutes.
  • David McCarey, 25, of Circleville, captured second place by finishing just 26 seconds after Francisco. He also finished first in the male ages 20-29 category.
  • Tommy Nohilly, 48, of Goldens Bridge, ran the trail in 41 minutes, 37 seconds.

Some of the other results were as follows.

  • Charlie Stewart, 14, of Katonah, was first in the male ages 1-14 category. His final time was 46 minutes, 41 seconds.
  • Pippa Nuttall, 14, of Katonah, placed first in the female ages 1-14 category. Her final time was 51 minutes, 17 seconds.
  • Brooke Nohilly, 15, of Goldens Bridge, was the top runner in the female 15-19 division. Her final time was 53 minutes and eight seconds.
  • Megan Ashforth, 27, of New Canaan, Conn., finished first in the female 20-29 category. Her final time was 53 minutes, 31 seconds.
