The eighth annual “A Taste of Westport” is right around the corner. This year’s event boasts a tasty lineup of some of the area’s most beloved restaurants: Blue Lemon, Bobby Q’s, Coromandel, DaPietro’s, Matsu Sushi, River House Tavern, Rizzuto’s, Rowayton Seafood, Tarantino’s, Tavern on Main, and 55 Wine Bar & Restaurant are all slated for the main event, to be held at the newly refurbished Westport Inn, Thursday, May 3, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Area confectioners such as Michelle’s Pies and Cakesuite will sweeten the evening with their treats. And spirits will be raised, courtesy of Black Bear Wines & Spirits and Greens Farms Spirits, among others.

As in previous years, proceeds from the event will benefit CLASP Homes, a Westport non-profit dedicated to providing homes and other opportunities to people with autism.

“This is a wonderful show of support from the community,” said Robin Hammond, Development Director for CLASP, at 2011’s “Taste” fundraiser. “An event like this really goes a long way to fill in our funding gaps. So this is a big deal for us, and for the people we serve.”

Tickets are $75 per person when purchased in advance, and $80 at the door, and can be purchased at the “A Taste of Westport” website.
