NEW CANAAN, Conn. – A little chill and lots of wind could not keep New Canaanites from pausing for a few moments to offer gratitude for the men and women who have served their nation.

More than 100 residents visited a wind-swept God’s Acre on Friday morning for the annual Veterans Day service. Keynote speaker Jim Bach, an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, talked about the heroism of New Canaanites who took to the battlefield in major conflicts from the Revolutionary War all the way to Operation Desert Storm in the 1990s.
