Karen Chaplin works in that department and speaks highly of her involvement, "I know the work of the United Way but was amazed at its impact in the local non-profits that serve the greater Greenwich community," she said.

The needs assessment helps detail what amount of money, volunteering and resources should be devoted to the area and how the allocated resources should be used.

"While it maintains a strong reputation as an affluent town, it (Greenwich) has the same concerns as other communities large and small," Chaplin said. "During the process of volunteering to work with the United Way of Greenwich on various projects, I am proud to see Greenwich organizations and nonprofits working to meet the needs of all citizens."
