Lá Gaeilge is a fun-filled day of Irish language and culture where language students at all levels meet to improve their skills, according to a release from the Gaelic-American Club Language Group.

Participants have a wide range of language proficiency, from people who have never heard or spoken Irish before up to people who learned Irish growing up as a child as their first language (native speakers), the release said.

The cost is $50 ($25 for students) and includes lunch. Guests are encouraged to bring family or friends for the discount price of $40 per person.

The event is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Gaelic American Club Inc. was founded in 1948 in Bridgeport by a small group of Irish immigrants for the purpose of maintaining and celebrating Irish culture by promoting social, civic and cultural activities. The group moved to a Fairfield location in 1987 and has thousands of members all over Fairfield County.
