Mill Street 'Innovative Chef' Gears Up For Greenwich Wine + Food Festival

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Wine + Food Festival is practically here -- it starts Friday, Sept. 23 -- with many Fairfield County residents already salivating over what will be served.

We went straight to one of the "2016 Innovative Chefs" -- Chef Geoff Lazlo of Mill Street Bar & Table in Greenwich -- for his take on what's cooking. 

Daily Voice: What does being named a "2016 Innovative Chef" mean to you?

Geoff Lazlo: Accolades always push me harder to be better at what I do.

DV: What kind of dish will you prepare at Greenwich Wine + Food? 

GL: Roasted Cauliflower, Pine nuts, Capers, Preserved Lemon.

DV: Do you have a favorite ingredient?

GL: My favorite ingredients are whatever is coming out of the garden today.

DV: Where do you get your cooking inspiration?

GL: Inspiration comes from walking around a farmers market and letting yourself dream.

DV: What would people be surprised to know about your restaurant? 

GL: We source ingredients from our own an 85 acre organic farm in Washington, Conn. in addition to two “mini” farms in Greenwich

DV: Anything else you want to say I didn't ask?

GL: It takes a team to be great and we love what we do at Mill Street Bar & Table.
