New Canaan Magazine Publisher Presents 7th Annual Light A Fire Awards

WESTPORT, Conn. – To honor the community’s nonprofit and philanthropic leaders, Moffly Media will celebrate the seventh annual Light a Fire Awards on Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Westport Country Playhouse, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

The event will feature hors d’oeuvres catered by Marcia Selden Catering and Event Planning as well as fine wines provided by Tarry Lodge. A portion of the night’s proceeds will benefit the Fairfield County Community Foundation.

Representatives from the area’s nonprofit organizations, corporate donors, and government officials will be in attendance.

Light a Fire nomination ballots appeared on the Moffly Media website in March and April. Local residents were asked to submit nominations for noteworthy individuals and organizations. From the submissions, 11 honorees were selected based on the contributions they have made to help those in need in Fairfield County.

This year’s honorees are Medha Thomas, Best Friend to Women; Alexandra Wallace-Currie, Outstanding Grassroots Pioneer; Andy Fox, Business Good Neighbor; Julie Faryniarz, Outstanding Education Advocate; Kevin Wing, Outstanding Teen Volunteer; Dana and Michael McCreesh, Best Health Advocates; Patricia and Robert Phillips, Lifetime Achievement recipients; Richard Hokin, Outstanding Environmental Advocate; and Mary Fetchet, Best Friend to Families. Moffly Media is the publisher of athome in Fairfield County and Fairfield Living as well as Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien, Stamford and Westport magazines.
