NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The Junior Company of Summer Theatre of New Canaan wants to help you get your summer groove on Friday, July 27, in Waveny Park. The troupe will present a production of Disney’s "High School Musical 2" as part of the Summer Theatre of New Canaan’s educational outreach program.
The young thespians — kids in fifth through eighth grades — have rehearsed for weeks under the close watch of company actors, directors Melody Meitrott Libonati and Jodi Stevens Bryce, and choreographer Doug Shankman.
The Junior Company is a division of the Summer Theatre program dedicated to teaching middle school students performance fundamentals and undertaking a full-length production in the process.
This year’s result is the "High School Musical 2" production. The show is open to the public and admission is free. The performance begins at 4 p.m. at the Festival Tent Theater in New Canaan’s Waveny Park.
