Saddle Up For A Night Of Southern Fun In Darien

DARIEN, Conn. -- Strap on your boots and dust off your cowboy hat, because a Darien fundraiser is showing off its southern charm. Tickets are now on sale for the annual OPUS Person-To-Person fall fundraiser -- The BigGER Rig Gig -- featuring live music, food trucks, cocktails, games and raffles.

In Support of Person-to-Person’s Emergency Assistance Program, guests can enjoy an evening of Southern-themed food trucks, games and live music featuring Blue Grass Band, The Wool Hats and DJ Matthew Mixwell. "We want to bring the fun of a southern barbecue to the people of Darien and Connecticut while raising money for a good cause," said Cameron Sokolik, board member of OPUS for Person to Person, a charity dedicated to providing families in crisis with necessary resources. "We want people to have a great time while donating to something that truly matters."

OPUS for P2P is a charitable volunteer organization whose goal is to support Person-to-Person in their mission to provide more than 24,000 people in the community with food, clothing, emergency assistance, college scholarships and summer camp programs. The charity has served hundreds of thousands of people in need since opening their doors in 1968. “Not only is The BigGER Rig Gig a lot of fun, it also has a direct, incredibly positive impact in our neighboring communities," said Sokolik. "Last year this event raised over $70,000 for Person-to- Person. Our goal this year is to beat that number.”

The BigGER Rig Gig will take place under an open-air tent with live music and food trucks from House of Bones BBQ, Mardi Parti Taco Loco and more. Guests can dance under the stars, play lawn games and enter to win a country-mile of raffle packages. "We hope everyone comes to support this great charity and enjoys a southern night right here in Darien," said Sokolik.

The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Ox Ridge Hunt Club in Darien. All-inclusive tickets are $135 per person for OPUS members and their spouses and $150 per person for non-members. To purchase tickets, send an email to biggerriggig@opus4p2p.org or visit their website.
