NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Take a tour of historic houses and support local charities at the same time as the Newcomers Club of New Canaan presents the 24th biennial “Homes for the Holidays” benefit.
The tours are on Dec. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature five unique homes, including New Canaan's oldest house, the Storied Saltbox, built in 1724.
Other buildings include the Manor at the Mill on the Silvermine River and Treetops, a Colonial revival built in 1915.
Each home has a Holiday music theme and will be festively decorated by professional designers, with the help of a team of Newcomers’ volunteers.
Tickets are $80 in advance and are available for purchase through Dec. 4 here as well as the following New Canaan retailers: Milestones, New Canaan Toy Store, The Whitney Shop and She la la.
After Dec. 4, tickets will be $90 and available for purchase only at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, located at 681 South Ave, at New Canaan's Waveny Park.
All proceeds go to support nonprofit organizations in the community. Over the last 10 years, the Club has donated more than $500,000 to a variety of local organizations, including GetAbout, Kids in Crisis, Meals on Wheels of New Canaan, The New Canaan Teen Center (Outback), the New Canaan Library and Person-to-Person.
