As part of the church’s Children and Family Ministries, middle school members and their parents will participate in this service project on Saturday, Jan. 31.

“It’s so important that the children in our community are able to see and understand that we live in a world in need,” Christy Lombardozzi, the church’s director of Christian formation and music, said in a press release.

“We are called by Christ to be His hands and feet, and put our faith into action. It is through service opportunities like this one that children are able to realize that they can do something to make a difference.”

While the middle school members and parents are out in Stamford, elementary school children and their families will participate in a workshop and service opportunity at The Congregational Church of New Canaan.

The workshop will cover topics such as the Christian call of service and ways to help neighbors in need.

The participants will also prepare sack lunches to benefit Inspirica’s children’s programs, which assist homeless children after school hours.
