The monthlong project, which involves demolition, redesign and rebuilding, is possible thanks to the promise of sweat equity from the Diageo Community Activity and Relief Efforts Employee Volunteer Group, and $10,000 presented to P2P by Larry Schwartz, Diageo’s president.

Plans for the renovation include a complete reorganization of space to better accommodate both clients and caseworkers and improvements to the Food Pantry.

Client services during this time will be moved to Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now (NEON) just down the block at 98 S. Main St. In late August, after the dust settles, the Diageo C.A.R.E.s Team together with P2P Volunteers will clean, paint and put the finishing touches on the building. On Sept. 11, Diageo will host the grand opening celebration at the Norwalk facility.
