Greenwich-Based Family Centers Named A Top Charity By Charity Navigator

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Fairfield County charity offering education and assistance to children and young adults in need has received 4-star designation from Charity Navigator for the ninth time in 10 years.The team at Family Centers received the honor, Charity Navigator’s highest, in recognition of its adherence to the “best practices” that allow for financial efficiency, according to a statement from Charity Navigator.“As nonprofit organizations evolve, so do the desires and interests of our supporters," said Michael Thatcher, president and CEO of Charity Navigator. "Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Family Centers exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its area of work. Charity Navigator, which last year influenced about $10 billion in charitable gifts, compiled its data using a unique method of “data-driven analysis to the charitable sector,”Family Centers, a private, nonprofit organization, works with 200 professionals and 3,000 trained volunteers to provide better and innovative programs for young men and women, according to the organization’s website.Learn more about Charity Navigator here.Learn more about Family Centers.
