JR United Way President Olivia Jones worked in both the food pantry and clothing room for several hours with fellow volunteers Bethany Johnson, Naureen Kurji, Jayla Fasion and Greenwich High School Faculty Advisor Patricia Chan.

Greenwich JR United Way Program Coordinator Emily Zerbst organized the trip and invited Jonathan Ray, who is helping the club create a documentary video using smartphone technology. A clip from one of the videos was posted to the Greenwich United Way Instagram page which can be found here.

In the 17-second clip Kurji explains the food pantry point system: "This card shows that for a family of four the amount of vegetables you can get is basically four cans, so one can is one point and on here it says vegetables 4 points."

Neighbor to Neighbor Operations Coordinator Guy Pettiford explained the point system to the JR United Way and explained the need for more fresh produce.

"We have a lot of families looking for healthy options, there is always a need for fresh produce" Pettiford explained. The JR United Way team is working to plan an upcoming food drive for the organization that serves 500 Greenwich households.
