One of several limitations of the current 37,000-square-foot library is its century-old infrastructure, according to newcanaannewsonline.com.

A lack of space for visitors to participate in programs is another concern because about a third of the current site on Main Street is unusable space such as basement mechanical rooms, newcanaannewsonline.com reported.
