This year's event will be from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 27 directly after the town parade.
This year, the YMCA has added lots of new things to its annual Halloween Party and there's something for everyone to have a spooky fun time. Activities include a photo booth and numerous Halloween games, such as:
- Halloween Hooptacula: Geared toward kids in grades K-2, join the New Canaan High School varsity basketball team and learn new skills through fun Halloween-themed basketball games.
- Pumpkin Rodeo: All the challenge and fun of a mechanical bull, but on a giant pumpkin.
- Old Faithful fire truck rides.
- Jack-o-Lantern contest: Bring your family's Jack-O-Lantern to be displayed at the party. Pumpkins will be voted on by event participants and prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place.
- Trunk-or-Trinket: Think your family can make the spookiest (or friendliest) ghost? Join the Trunk-or-Trinket and display your decorated Halloween trunk, while handing out Halloween trinkets to local kids.
Families participating in the Trunk-or-Trinket must register by Oct. 21 by contacting Nicki Jezairian at 203-966-4528, Ext. 157.
The New Canaan YMCA is at 564 South Ave. Call 203-966-4528 for more information.
